Dry Rub for Pork in Smoker

Dry Rub for Pork or Beef in Smoker (this will coat up to 6 lbs of pork ribs or 10 lbs pork shoulder or pork roast, or 10 lbs of round tip)

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup paprika
  • 1/8 cup fresh ground pepper 
  • 1-2 tbs garlic powder (could use garlic salt, then just cut back on salt)
  • 1-2 tbs onion powder (or dried chopped onion)
  • 1 tbs cayenne powder
  • 1/4 cup coarse salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
Set:
  • smoker to 230-250 degrees.  Smoke for 2 hours, then wrap meat tightly in heavy tin foil.  Slow cook for 9-10 hours total.
